It seems to have a sensor that knows when it is about to run into something, which will cause it to slide backwards and change direction. It also goes into a sleep mode that lulls cats into a false sense of calm, but if they touch it, it springs back to life and starts wiggling with the same intensity as when first turned on. It can handle low pile carpets, but nothing too thick (like a shag rug). Like all toys, you should monitor your pets use just in case. My cats are very intrigued with this toy snake and have a fun stalking it!

I’ve been under the weather and my kitty was getting bored and tearing apart the house. She needed more stimulation but I didn’t want to get up so I bought this toy and she loves it and I don’t have to do a thing…saved by a snake…lol.
